Ordinary greaseproof paper has no glossy surface like oil paper. Its main use is to be placed under food when baking bread, cakes or cookies to keep the baking tray clean.
Semi-transparent paper is often called oil paper by many sellers, also known as glassine paper, oil-gloss paper or wax-gloss paper. Its surface is super calendered and presents a shiny luster. Its usage is basically the same as greaseproof paper, but the biggest difference is that it is not greaseproof and its water resistance is not as good as greaseproof paper.
Food-grade silicone paper is made by applying food-grade silicone oil to semi-transparent paper or greaseproof paper through a special process. The advantages of this paper are: it has an excellent peelability, food is less likely to stick to it, and it can withstand high temperatures. However, its price is higher than that of oil paper and greaseproof paper.
